It has been quite the first month of the season.

There have been tons of goals, key injuries and as every year, teams that have surprised and teams that have disappointed.

The 3 Stars for the month of October, Connor McDavid, Shea Weber and Jonathan Marchessault are a good example of this.

Since been given the "C" in Edmonton, McDavid has been brilliant. He has showcased all of his talent in the first month of the season in recording 12 points (5 goals and 7 assists) in the Oilers 10 games and has helped his team to 7-2-1 record good for 15 points and top spot in the Western Conference. Not bad! Connor has taken his team on his back at times and is looking to carry them to a playoff spot after so many years of disappointment.

Being part of this summer's blockbuster trade that sent him to Montreal for PK Subban, Shea Weber wasn't sure what to expect. He was happy that he was joining a team with fellow BC boys Carey Price and Brendan Gallagher, who he is good friends with but wasn't sure how his new city would receive him. After all, PK was loved in Montreal and he did a lot for the city as well. Let's just say that Weber found the best way to impress the Montreal fan base, being himself and putting up points. We know how great of a defenseman Shea Weber is. He has proved that so far by scoring 4 goals and adding 6 assists in his first 9 games with Montreal. He has also been a huge part as to why the Habs are 8-0-1 through their first 9 games.

Now for the surprise. Jonathan Marchessault signed with Florida for only $750.000 for each of the next 2 seasons. He is definitely making the most of it. After having a great preseason, he took advantage of an injury to Jonathan Huberdeau to play on the Panthers' top line. He didn't stop there. He has scored 6 goals and added 5 assists in Florida's first 10 games. I think it's safe to say he will probably crush his carreer high 18 points he had last season.

Now that October is in the books, let's see what November will bring us.
