NHL scout arrested at a New York theme park

According to reports from The Buffalo News, one of the Toronto Maple Leafs' scouts was arrested this weekend and has been charged with a list of offenses.

A statement from the Genesee County Sheriff's Office states that Lindsay Hofford, 53, of Nobleton, Ontario, stole a golf cart around 11:40 p.m. Saturday evening, hit another vehicle and left the scene of the accident.

The incident took place at Darien Lake Theme Park,  9993 Alleghany Road in Darien Center, New York.

He is charged with driving while intoxicated, unauthorized use of a vehicle without the owner's consent, leaving the scene of an accident, making an unsafe lane change and refusing to take a breath test.

Hofford is due to appear in court on September 21st, he was arraigned Sunday afternoon.

Hofford works for the Maple Leafs as the director of Eastern Area Scouting. He is also founder and CEO of the Pro Hockey Development Group. Hofford declined to comment to The Buffalo News, and a Maple Leafs spokesman said the team had no further information to add on Sunday.
