NHL team announces jersey retirement for legendary player
Over 400 goals, 1000 points and two Stanley Cups, well deserved.

The New Jersey Devils have announced that they’ll retire legendary Devils forward Patrik Elias’ iconic number 26 this upcoming season.
The honor is certainly well earned. The veteran of 1240 career NHL games scored 408 goals and 1025 points across his 20 year career, all with the Devils. Of course, he was a major core piece for the team’s two Stanley Cup championships in 2000 and 2003.
Congrats on an outstanding career, Patrik! We’ll be there watching when number 26 is immortalized in the Prudential Center rafters.
