The Buffalo Sabres have announced the passing of one of their alumni.

According to an official release from the team, former Buffalo Sabres second round draft pick in the 1975 National Hockey League draft Ken Breitenbach has lost his battle with cancer, he was just 62 years old.

Breitenbach spent the majority of his career in the American Hockey League, however he did appear 68 games for the Sabres and recorded 1 goal and 13 assists over his career in the NHL.

Breitenbach is survived by his mother Joyce as well as his wife Rosemary with whom he had two children who have produced five grandchildren. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
