NHL to cancel the combine ahead of this year’s draft?!

The upcoming NHL draft is full of promising players and many fans were hoping to get to know some a little better during the combine, which is scheduled to take place in Buffalo from June 1 to 6. 

However, Pierre LeBrun revealed during Tuesday night’s Insider Trading on TSN that the combine is currently under evaluation and could be canceled entirely by the league. 

“The combine is slate for June 1 through June 6 in Buffalo. I was told today that the event is under evaluation. People are obviously talking about the merits of holding it or not holding it, there are more than a hundred prospects and you’ve also got player agents. For now it’s still a go, but we’ll see.”

This might have a major impact in years to come for the NHL draft, including this summer’s.
