Nylander offers up advice to Matthews and Marner for upcoming contract negotiations

In his first one on one interview since signing a long term, seven year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Swedish sniper William Nylander sat down with TSN’s Gino Reda and he had some interesting advice for teammates Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner in their upcoming RFA contract negotiations.

Most interestingly, Nylander says:

”Just get it done before the season starts. That's probably the one thing you'd want, to get it out of the way."

Wow… how’s that for honesty? It’s clear that Nylander has some regrets about how things went down between him and Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas.

As for his role in things, Dubas also made some interesting comments and makes it clear that Matthews and Marner will NOT have to endure the same long, drawn out negotiations that Nylander did.
