There are no days off in Edmonton ever since Ken Holland has taken over as the new Oilers general manager.

Earlier this week, after many managerial changes, Holland chose his new head coach Dave Tippett to a three-year contract, hoping to get the Oilers back on track and in a contending spot.

We could see today’s changes coming however, the Oilers made them official on Friday: the team has parted ways with assistant coaches Trent Yawney and Manny Viveiros, according to TSN radio host Jason Gregor.

Both joined the team last summer under then-head coach Todd McLellan. It has not yet been announced what role, if any, Glen Gulutzan will have with Tippett at the helm.

There has been chatter that Tippett could hire former Philadelphia coach Dave Hakstol as one of his assistants. Hakstol was let go at the end of last season by the Flyers, who have replaced him with Alain Vigneault

Oilers fans are probably used to it by now: so many changes taking place!
