The Edmonton Oilers might have stayed quiet on Monday, it might be because they’re getting ready to pull a significant move in the coming days…

While GM Ken Holland did re-sign Alex Chiasson and Jujhar Khaira, and adding Mike Smith, Markus Granlund, Tomas Jurco, and Gaetan Haas off the unrestricted free agent market, he made sure to announce that he was not done making moves, and one will certainly thrill the fanbase in Edmonton.

“I don’t think that we’re done," Holland said, per the Edmonton Journal. “...Certainly we’d like to add another player who has the potential to score 20 goals. We’ll see if we can make that happen.”

Going after a 20-goal scorer might be hard after the Oilers failed to convince Gustav Nyquist to sign with them. The UFA ended up signing with the Columbus Blue Jackets at a price Holland wasn't ready to pay.

“What did he get? $5.5 million cap number. It’s a big number," Holland said of Nyquist's four-year, $22 million contract. “When you look at our team and you look at what’s committed, it was a big number for us.”

There are a few UFAs left on the market that could help out the Oilers, however, Holland knows he needs to make smart choices with his money. According to Cap Friendly, the Oilers have just under $4 million in cap space following Monday's deals.

Holland is said to be looking at adding centre depth before next season, on top of a top-six winger, therefore there might a trade in the works as well. The GM has yet to find a deal he liked when it comes to young forward Jesse Puljujarvi, who demanded a trade out of Edmonton.

We bet it will get louder in Edmonton in the coming days…
