Oilers’ Neal scores 4 goals because of new team rule!

Calgary Flames head coach Bill Peters must have been so mad when he saw that his former player, the one that got traded for Milan Lucic over the summer, recorded four goals in one game on Tuesday night.

That’s right: James Neal of the Edmonton Oilers tallied four goals in a 5-2 victory of the New York Islanders, making him the best scorer in the league at the moment with six goals.

That’s one less than what he managed to put up with the Flames last season.

However on Wednesday, Oilers head coach Dave Tippett revealed what might have been a motive for Neal to find the back of the net so many times.

New team rule, you score 4 and you don’t have to practice. Nealer took advantage.”

While some fans in Alberta complained last season that Neal appeared lazy and unmotivated on the ice, folks in Edmonton are not getting the same player.

Well… Neal won’t change all that much: he might still be lazy but, found a way to remain productive while skipping practice.

We don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing…
