The Edmonton Oilers placed forward Brian Ferlin on waivers, for purpose of assigning him to the Bakersfield Condors (AHL). The 30 other NHL teams have until tomorrow to claim him. He didn't play a game with the Oilers so far this season.

Ferlin, 25, was drafted 121st by the Boston Bruins in 2011. He played seven games in the NHL with Boston, registering one point. In 81 games played in the AHL, he registered 35 points (regular season and playoffs included).

Oilers General Manager Peter Chiarelli signed him as a free agent last summer.
