First of, if you missed former NHLer and NBC analyst Jeremy Roenick eviscerating the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night during a TV segment, here is what it was about.

Brutal, blunt and brillant.

During the second intermission of the contest between the Oilers and the Detroit Red Wings, the former NHLer turned analyst, who has never been one to sugar coat how he felt, gave the most blunt analysis on the Oilers' situation. He completely ripped apart the team, eviscerated the players in an all-time rant on and NHL on NBC broadcast, and you better believe it has gone viral.

“I can’t believe they’re a professional hockey league team ... Their 17 other skaters might have the lowest hockey IQ of any team I’ve ever seen. It’s embarrassing.”

For the full transcript of rant, check the tweet below, posted by Scott Billeck:

Funny enough, while Roenick was eviscerating the Oilers, Peter Chiarelli was being announced by CEO Bob Nicholson that he was being let go. During Wednesday's press conference, Nicholson explained how he wanted to give him a chance to leave the building quietly.

You might think that the Oilers were upset with Roenick for his comments. After all, he went off on an explosive rant on live TV about the team's woes. However, Roenick revealed on 1050 on Thursday that a member of the Oilers reached out to him following his critical comments on NBCSN the other night and the message he sent JR will surprise you:

"You're absolutely right, and things have to change."

JR is known to have no issue expressing his frustration, however, for once, we have to admit the man is right.

After the game, Roenick donned a paper bag over his head, channelling his inner Oilers fan, as he explained he was a shame of the Oilers.

It is good to know that the team agrees and is ready to make the necessary changes to move forward.
