The Edmonton Oilers have recalled veteran forward Brad Malone from the Bakersfield Condors (AHL), the team announced on Monday. This move is linked to the decision made by General Manager Peter Chiarelli to send Kailer Yamamoto to his junior team, the Spokane Chiefs (WHL).

Malone, 28, was drafted 105th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in 2007. He played 179 games played in the NHL with the Avalanche, the Oilers and the Carolina Hurricanes, registering 30 points. Edmonton signed him as a free agent last summer. He played three games in Edmonton this season, without registering a point.

Edmonton will be playing against the New York Islanders on Tuesday.
