Oilers wave big physical forward / enforcer.

No one will ever argue that Edmonton Oilers forward Luke Gazdic is one of the teams most skilled players, any such statement would be ridiculous, but you would be just as hard pressed to argue he hasn't filled a niche role on the team.

The Oilers have placed Gazdic on waivers Wednesday, and although we do not expect any team to make the move to pick him up, any roster looking to add some muscle at an extremely team friendly price could potentially consider the option.

Gazdic is only under contract for this season, and comes with a cap hit of $800,000 and his departure leaves one very interesting question. Who will protect the returning Connor McDavid?
