One Coach Knew All Along

One NHL head coach knew deep down in his heart where Steven Stamkos would sign all along.

 

Tampa Bay’s very own Jon Cooper stated publicly that there was never an ounce of doubt in his mind that Stamkos would sign with the Lightning, as per NHL.com:

 

“I just truly believe that in his heart he never wanted to leave… he still re-signed and we never went a day without Steven Stamkos.”

Arguably one of the biggest unrestricted free agents to have potentially hit the market during this offseason, Stamkos re-upped with the Bolts two days prior to his UFA status.

His deal is set to expire in 2024, as the organization believes it’s Stanley Cup bound in the near future.
