One of the most popular UFAs remains unsigned

This is unusual for the veteran player who doesn’t want to retire!

Thomas Vanek loves to shop on the free-agency market at this time of year.

After a long seven-year deal with the Buffalo Sabres and then a three-year contract with the Minnesota Wild in 2014, Vanek has been used to the UFA life, packing and going from one club to another on a one-year deal.

In the past three years, he has played for the Detroit Red Wings, the Vancouver Canucks, the Florida Panthers and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

He is used to moving around the league…

While he usually finds a new team that wants to sign him early in the free-agency season, Vanek remains now unsigned, still waiting for an NHL club to get him a deal.

The 35-year-old forward has been a coveted free agent in the past years and is hoping he will get another shot for the upcoming season.

Last season, Vanek managed to put up 36 points in 64 games: a respectable performance for a player who earned $ 3M for the season and who should obviously seek a deal between $ 2 and $ 3M for a one-year contract.

We are pretty sure the veteran is not ready to hang up the skates… Which team do you think will give him a shot?
