One of the top picks in the draft has been scratched tonight.

A huge disappointment.

This has got to be a major disappointment.

Third overall pick in the 2015 draft Dylan Strome has a tons of expectations on his shoulders this season, and sitting on the sidelines watching his team play certainly doesn't fit the bill when it comes to those expectations.

According to a report from Craig Morgan of Arizona Sports, Strome will be watching from the press box when his Arizona Coyotes step onto the ice to start their National Hockey League season, this despite the fact that he made the final 23 man roster.

For a guy who was drafted so high a year ago it's a sobering reality, but he appears to be taking it in stride.

“It’s obviously a little disappointing but I’ve got to look at the positives,” he said as per Craig Morgan. “I’m here in the NHL, living my dream at 19. Not a lot of people get this opportunity so I’m just going to wait for my chance and just run with it when I get it.”

One has to wonder if there's a possibility of him playing himself out of an NHL spot this season.
