Another bit of great news from Lindblom.

The story of Philadelphia Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom, his battle with cancer, achieving remission, and his now seemingly inevitable return to the team has been on of the most inspiring tales of the season. On Sunday that tale got yet another chapter when Lindblom took the latest step in his recovery.

Obviously we have limited access to what is going on inside the National Hockey League's bubble given the limited amount of media that has been allowed inside, however on Sunday the Flyers themselves provided an update on Lindblom by publishing pictures on their social media that showed Lindblom on the ice with his Flyers teammates having completed the mandatory quarantine period since his return from training in Sweden. It is no doubt a huge moment for Lindblom and the timing of it is actually quite poetic. Lindblom turned 24 years old on Saturday and although it comes one day too late his return to the ice has to feel like a wonderful birthday present for the young man who has had such a difficult year.

"I'm in Toronto right now and having a good time, so I can't complain at all," Lindblom said as per NHL.com. "It feels to me like I'm back on track to just start working out and start skating again. But just, like, to be around the guys again, it just makes me get so much more energy. I feel like I'm living my normal life again. I'm very happy right now."

You don't merely have to take his word for it though, Lindblom was clearly overjoyed to be back out on the ice with the Flyers on Sunday. Lindblom is picture smiling from ear to ear while participating in the drills with his teammates and no doubt his presence will bolster the spirits of the other Flyers players who have been quietly rooting for him all season long.

There's no word yet on when Lindblom can be expected to return to the ice but Alain Vigneault has always maintained that they were hopeful he would be able to return in September for training camp, so perhaps we are in fact very close to seeing Lindblom back in action again in these Stanley Cup playoffs. His participation in practice today is certainly a very good sign.
