Outrageous destination for Henrik Lundqvist on the table!

Say what?

Ever since the New York Rangers have been eliminated from playoff contention, fans have been wondering if veteran goalie Henrik Lundqvist has played his last game in the Big Apple.

While the thought of The King leaving New York might be tough to swallow, imagine the reactions of Rangers’ fans when Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia suggested that Lundqvist come to Ottawa to fill the spot of a veteran goaltender for the Senators.

We get that Lundqvist does not want to hang up the pads and is still looking to fight for a Stanley Cup before he does so, however, we cannot imagine that he would take his talents to a young rebuilding team like the Senators.

A lot of fans and pundits are expecting the 2020-21 season to be the last campaign in Lundqvist’s career and wouldn’t he prefer to either stay in New York as a backup goalie or get an affordable deal with a contender to get a chance at hoisting the Cup at last?!

We were relieved to see that Garrioch also suggests Pittsburgh Penguins’ Matt Murray and looking at the Arizona Coyotes and Carolina Hurricanes to get a veteran boost in between the pipes.

Because that Lundqvist option is just ridiculous!
