A cheap shot after the play, after his first hat trick.

Panarin gets chopped down after scoring his first career hat trick.

I have to be honest, I'm surprised the reaction from the Blackhawks to this play wasn't more severe, but that may simply be a result of them not realizing what had just taken place.

It's perfectly reasonable to be frustrated when you're losing a game, any game really when it's in a competitive environment, however there are lines you shouldn't cross and tonight Rangers defenseman Keith Yandle crossed one of those lines.

Blackhawks rookie Artemi Panarin became the first rookie to reach 20 goals this season, and furthermore he recorded his first career hat trick when he added an empty net goal in the final moments of the game on Wednesday night. However his celebration was cut short when he was chopped down with a slash to the skate from Yandle, and that slash set him crashing hard into the boards.

Thankfully Panarin was ok, but he was clearly unhappy with Yandle and let him know with both his words, and some rather comical gestures.
