The Florida Panthers continue to be one of the more active and frankly impressive organizations this offseason.

According to a report from TSN's Gary Lawless, the Florida Panthers have inked right winger Reilly Smith to a long term deal, securing him for the next 5 years. The Florida Panthers confirmed the announcement, and while they did not release the financial details of the deal, Lawless has reported that the contract carries an average annual value of $5 million.

Smith recaptured the form he had demonstrated in his first season as a Boston Bruin with the Panthers this year, putting up 50 points in the regular season. It's clear the Panthers feel that at 25 Smith can be a big contributor for a many years to come, and this looks like another solid deal from Florida.
