Patrick Marleau scored a game-winning goal(again) yesterday, helping the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Boston Bruins 3-2 in overtime. By doing so, Marleau tied Jarome Iginla for seventh rank all-time for game-winning goals in NHL history. His goal yesterday was his third game-winning goal already this season, the most for a Leafs player.

His next game-winning goal will be his 102nd, which would give him sole possession of the seventh rank. The next player he could catch up is Brendan Shanahan, who sits sixth all-time with 109 game-winning goals. 19.6% of Marleau's goals so far in his career  (101 goals on a total of 515) have been game-winning goals. Impressive, eh?

Marleau was drafted second overall by the San Jose Sharks in 1997. He played 19 seasons in San Jose, before signing with the Maple Leafs as a free agent last summer. He has 12 points in 18 games played so far this season. In 1511 games played in the NHL, he registered 1094 points, and added 120 points in 177 playoff games.
