Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has long been one of the faces of the National Hockey League and you could even argue that he remains the sports most popular figure both on and off the ice.

Over his lengthy NHL career Crosby has accomplished just about everything, loading his trophy case with plenty of hardware and earning the respect of both his peers and fans alike in the process. One of those accomplishments however may be much less known to long time fans of the sport, and that is due to the fact that it largely occurs away from the NHL.

Over the weekend it was revealed that Crosby had actually been nominated for an Emmy award for his role in "Merci Sidney" a short film about his return to Rimouski, Quebec where his jersey was retired by the Rimouski Oceanic. Not only was Crosby nominated for the award but he would go on to win said award, capturing his first Emmy ever as a producer.

If you're interested in the video itself you can check it out just below, it was published by the Pittsburgh Penguins in October of last year.

I say his first Emmy as a producer because many of you will be unaware of the fact that this is actually the second time in his life that Crosby has won the prestigious award. He has previously won the award for another video made by the Penguins, this one called "There's No Place Like Home." That win however dates all the way back to 2016 when the video was produced by the Penguins.

Just one more feather in the cap of the Penguins captain.
