Penguins fans ranked the BEST in NHL!

Pittsburgh Penguins fans were ranked No. 1 in the NHL and No. 4 amongst all professional sports teams in the 2018 FanSided 250, announced yesterday by FanSided of Time Inc. 

The FanSided 250 list ranks fan bases based on several characterists including longestivty, worth, size, social interaction, buzz factor and passion. It touts itself as the “ultimate ranking of fandoms.”

So, why the Penguins and why not another rabid NHL fan base? Well, with back-to-back Stanley Cup championships there’s never been a bigger buzz around the Penguins. An estimated 650,000 fans attended the team’s Stanley Cup parade this pas offseason and the team recently celebrated its 500th consecutive home see out. 

Penguins fans pack the PPG Paints Arena to watch their team, but when demand exceeded availability like it did this past spring, the Penguins set up big screens outside the arena for fans who couldn’t get a seat inside. 

There’s no denying the passion for hockey in Pittsburgh, and that’s why Penguins fans are considered the best fans in the entire sport.
