Penguins lose Schultz in last night’s win and face huge problem to replace him

Enough is enough!

The Pittsburgh Penguins were thrilled to leave Calgary with a 4-1 win over the Flames on Tuesday night, but there was a clear sense of worry in the room after the victory as well.

During the first period of action, the Penguins lost another player as defenseman Justin Schultz (yes, him again!) left the game with a lower-body injury and did not return to the contest.

After the game, twas no update on Schultz who limped off the ice following his first shift…

Head coach Mike Sullivan simply told reporters that Schultz’s undisclosed injury was being evaluated. More details may be provided later today.

The question is now: who will the Penguins recall to get another reserve defenseman from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. We assume Juuso Riikola will presumably slot in should Schultz not be available for the foreseeable future, but there is a sense of worry as Seth Rorabaugh of the Tribube Live reports that "Zach Trotman and David Warsofsky, two of the AHL Penguins’ most reliable veteran defenders, each missed practice on Tuesday and their status for for Wednesday’s home game against the ProvidenceBruins is questionable."

So … who would get the call?

It looks like the Penguins have limited options…
