Back in December, the Philadelphia Flyers made a heartbreaking announcement when the team confirmed that forward Oskar Lindblom will miss the remainder of the season as he has been diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma. Ewing’s sarcoma is a very rare type of cancerous tumor that grows in your bones or the soft tissue around your bones.

The tragic news has brought the team together even more and his teammates have rallied to win games and focus on the recovery of their friend.

And surprisingly enough ahead of tonight’s Battle of Pennsylvania, they are not the only ones.

The Penguins posted pictures of their players, notably star players like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kristopher Letang wearing the No. 23 t-shirts in support of Lindblom’s fight with cancer.

The team thought it was very important to take a moment to put the rivalry aside and support this player who is focused on getting better and fighting for his life.

Great class from the Penguins and we don’t doubt that we will still get an intense showdown between the two clubs tonight.
