Penguins rocked by injuries, Malkin out long-term

This just in, Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan has announced that forwards Evgeni Malkin and Nick Bjugstad are both out “longer term” due to lower body injuries.

It’s suspected that Malkin’s injury is knee related and that it’s a result of this awkward collision with teammate Kris Letting from this past weekend:

Tough break for a Penguins team that has struggled to start the 2019-20 season. In particular it’s a tough break for Malkin who made it clear this past offseason that he’s looking to take his game to the next level in 2019-20.
