Pens should try to land Ducks' Reto Berra

Several trade rumors have been thrown around when talking about the Pittsburgh Penguins, and their starting goalie Matt Murray being sidelined. While a few teams have been connected to veteran defenseman Ian Cole, like the Toronto Maple Leafs or Colorado Avalanche, NHL insider Pierre LeBrun brought another option to the table.

LeBrun suggested in the Athletic that Anaheim Ducks third-stringer Reto Berra could be a worthwhile option if the Ducks are willing to part with him.

"One guy that I’ve always liked in a backup role is Swiss netminder Reto Berra, 30, who has put up a .932 save percentage in four appearances with the Ducks this season, but now that Ryan Miller is back behind John Gibson, Berra is the No. 3 again in the Anaheim organization," LeBrun explains.

"I have no idea if the Penguins would ever look that way but he’s a guy I personally would not hesitate to trade for if the Ducks were willing to move him."

Berra played four games with the Ducks this season, he had a record of 1-1-0, with a 2.27 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage.
