The Las Vegas Golden Knights will be a different looking team on Saturday night with several significant changes being made to the lineup by Golden Knights head coach Peter DeBoer.

The Golden Knights announced on Saturday that both Paul Stastny and Tomas Nosek have been deemed "unfit to play" on Saturday and that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the changes to this line up. The Golden Knights will also be making a switch in goal this evening with veteran Marc Andre Fleury getting the start over Robin Lehner who will serve as the backup goaltender for Vegas. Although I can't read DeBoer's mind here I would suspect that he is putting Fleury in for Game 3 in an effort to give Lehner some additional rest, and I wonder whether or not he would have made the switch in net if the Golden Knights didn't currently have a comfortable 2 - 0 lead in this series.

The absence of both Stastny and Nosek tonight will mean that the Golden Knights must dress two additional skaters and on that front there is some good news for fans of the team. Forward Max Pacioretty will be back in the lineup this evening for the Golden Knights, another sign that he is making good progress in his recovery from the injury he sustained during Phase 3 of the National Hockey League's Return to Play. Pacioretty appeared for the Golden Knights in Game 1 of this series against the Blackhawks but was on the sidelines for Game 2 after playing over 18 minutes in his return to action.

Also suiting up for the Golden Knights this evening will be center Patrick Brown, a much less familiar face. Brown spent almost the entire 2019 - 2020 season playing for the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League and I suspect that he is drawing into the lineup this evening only due to the fact that the Golden Knights appear to be dealing with a number of injuries and/or illnesses in their lineup.

In 60 games at the American Hockey League level last season Brown had 7 goals and 14 assists for a combined total of 21 points.
