Philip Holm reacts to joining the Canucks!

As you've heard already, the Canucks inked a deal with gold medal winner Philip Holm. The Swedish defenseman was playing in the Swedish national league before the World Championship and was apparently a coveted asset for many NHL teams. In the end, he decided on the Canucks. TSN 1040 Vancouver got him on the phone in a short interview. 

The first hing Holm said? ''It felt good from the start with the Canucks''. Of course, he won't say the Canucks were a bad choice, but he said his gut thought Vancouver was the right choice. 

He also said he was fighting for a spot in the team with a great starting chance, but he still had to have a good camp to make it. The AHL is still an option but he will do everything to stay in the NHL. He knows the smaller hockey rink will be a challenge though. 

Changing role in his most recent team in Sweden caused a good bump in his offensive scoring, but he still considers himself as a defensive oriented guy. The gold medal was a nice thing for him, especially the celebration, but he still focus on his future. 

He got to know Alexander Edler at the World Championship, but he's still stranger to the Sedins and the other players in Vancouver. Of course, he watched their games a few times but it will be a new experience for him.
