Pierre McGuire narrowly avoids puck to the face in Lightning vs Blue Jackets game

In case you missed it, NBC analyst Pierre McGuire narrowly avoided receiving a puck to the face during last night’s contest between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets. And, in an ironic twist given the near target, Pierre managed to avoid the puck not by any quick thinking but simply just by dumb luck. 

Check out this clip in which Pierre looks absolutely oblivious until the puck flies past his face and hits an NBC camera.

That’s about as close as it gets. Now… we wouldn’t wish harm on ANYONE… but, you gotta admit that it would have been quite a scene had Pierre taken a puck to the face. Somehow I think he would absolutely relish the opportunity to get stitched up on the medical table, only to return for the third period. 

As it is, Pierre is fine and… well we’ve all been robbed of some must see tv.
