In case you missed it last night, the Colorado Avalanche absolutely DEMOLISHED the Arizona Coyotes in Game 5 of their opening round playoff matchup, beating them 7-1 and eliminating them from the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Avs were firing all night and the Coyotes just had no response for the high powered offence they faced. Leading the way, of course, was superstar forward Nathan MacKinnon for the Avs. The Hart Trophy nominee has scored a remarkable four goals and 13 points in eight postseason games for the Avs. But here's the thing... who would you guess is the team's next leading scorer? Mikko Rantanen? Gabriel Landeskog? Rookie phenom Cale Makar? Nope... it's third line grinder Nazem Kadri.

Kadri has been an absolute revelation for the Avs since being acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs last offseason. Despite some strong play with the Leafs, Kadri seems to have taken his game to the next level in Colorado and he credits the organization for helping him be at his best. Check out these comments from Kadri himself after last night's big win:

"I'm just fortunate and lucky to come into such a great dressing room with such great teammates and a great organization that just gave me a chance to be who I can be.
"They've believed in me since I stepped in the door. I'm just trying to not let them down."

Ouch. That has to hurt if you're a Leafs fan... but you know what hurts even worse? These comments from NBC analyst Pierre McGuire in which he seems to take a shot at Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas for trading away Kadri last offseason.

Check it out:

"I wonder what they're thinking in Toronto right now, watching Kadri go through the handshake line. I'm not sure it's wise to run your team through analytics."

Double ouch.

Want to feel some more pain, Leafs fans? This is the first time in his career that Kadri has ever won a playoff round. The real kicker though is that the Avs look poised to make a deep, deep, DEEP run. Some analysts and fans even consider them a frontrunner to win the Stanley Cup. How will that news go over in Leafs Nation?
