He does not agree.

It is quite common to see fans of a certain team or a certain player to disagree with the ratings provided by EA Sports in the National Hockey League's series of console video games, but it is much more rare to see an actual NHL player voicing that kind of displeasure.

Well that is exactly what we got this week when Columbus Blue Jackets star Pierre Luc Dubois took to social media to let EA Sports know that he was not happy with the rating that he received. The 21 year old former first round pick (3rd overall) at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft was awarded an overall score of 85, pretty good for such a young player, but it seems that Dubois feels he deserved much better.

"I’ve been underestimated my entire life, well maybe next time EA Sports NHL you will...estimate me," wrote Dubois.

If the quote sounds a little weird to you that is because it is. Dubois was obviously not genuinely angry at EA Sports but instead used a famous quote from hit show "The Office" to deliver his message of displeasure in as friendly a manner as could possibly be done. It is unclear what Dubois feels his actual score should have looked liked, but he is coming off a pretty solid season.

The 21 year old center appeared in all 82 games for the Blue Jackets last season and set a career high for goals with 27, a career high for assists with 34, and a career high for points with 61. Dubois would go on to add 2 goals and 3 assists for a total of 5 points over the course of 10 playoff games with the Jackets, making a solid case for him earning a high rating in game.

Without being able to compare him to other players it seems a little unfair to pass judgement on whether or not the rating of 85 was warranted or not for Dubois. That being said though Dubois is not only getting EA's attention by complaining publicly in this fashion, but he is also doing a great job of promoting the game itself which I suspect could help him get a bump in future editions of the game.
