When a high hit occurs in the NHL, everybody seems to take notice of it. However on this occasion there was a fair bit of acting involved.

During Friday's Game 5 action between the New York Islanders and Florida Panthers, what appeared to be a high hit from Panthers' forward Jaromir Jagr on Islanders' forward Cal Clutterbuck turned out to be an Academy Award winning performance.

As Jagr skates through centre ice, he passes Clutterbuck making only slight contact with the him. Clutterbuck immediately throws his hands up in the air and falls to the ice in apparent agony.

Upon review of the play it is clear that Clutterbuck embellishes the contact in hopes of drawing a penalty on Jagr. While there is contact to the upper portion of Clutterbuck's body, it is clear that Jagr was not attempting to throw a hit on Clutterbuck.

Clutterbuck has a history of embellishing and it seems that only Michael Phelps could have dove harder than he did on this particular play.
