Martin Havlat hopes his time in the NHL hasn't come to an end just yet.

According to the veteran forward's agent Allan Walsh, Havlat has begun skating and training with the Czech Extraliga club Kometa Brno. It s his hope that an NHL team will look to sign him for the upcoming NHL season, and wants to remain in shape for when his moment comes.

The 35-year old signed a one-year deal in November with the St. Louis Blues, but was forced to leave the team to attend to a personal matter. He only appeared in two games for the Blues last season, scoring once.

The Czech native has 790 NHL games under his belt, recording 594 points, including 242 goals. He has also managed 52 points in 75 career playoff contests.

At this point it would likely take a professional tryout offer from a team during training camp for Havlat to have a decent chance of returning to the NHL.
