Player taken to hospital after taking puck to the throat.

There was a scary moment at the Bell Center tonight.

During the second period, Nathan Beaulieu of the Montreal Canadiens took a puck to the throat. He was playing Ottawa forward Derick Brassard 1 on 1 and put his stick in the way when Brassard was looking to shoot. The shoot came up and caught him right in the throat. The scary part is you can see him trying to get off right away and on the replay you could see him barely able to breathe after getting hit with the puck. He didn't return to the game.

He was taken to a Montreal hospital for precautionary reasons. We will give you more details when they are made available.
