The story of Semyon Varlamov's alleged 2013 assault on his then girlfriend Evgeniya Vavrinyuk shocked the hockey world, and although Varlamov was never prosecuted due to a lack of evidence, this story isn't over yet.

According to a report from the Denver Post published on Tuesday, Varlamov will be forced to miss the next two games, because although he won't be charged in a criminal trial, Varlamov must now face Vavrinyuk in a civil case.

Vavrinyuk testified in court today, and spoke of a long history of abuse, far more than this one isolated incident, perhaps most disturbing of all however was this exerpt fro mthe Denver Post.

The former girlfriend of Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov testified Tuesday before a jury that after kicking, and dragging her, he told her "if we were not in America, I could have killed you."

If you're interested you can hear Vavrinyuk's testimony in the video below, although her comments were interpreted by a translator.
