Gustav Nyquist is expected to be in the lineup against Toronto

Illness kept Gustav Nyquist out of Monday's practice but he might be back sooner than expected.

Nyquist said he was feeling "Much better today," and feels like he has "A lot more energy. It's nice to feel a little normal again."

The 27-year-old forward scored 7 goals and registered 22 assists in 57 games. Nyquist started to feel ill on the plane from Edmonton to Toronto.

"I felt good, to be honest with you," Nyquist said. "I thought I had my legs. I haven't been through that situation before where I've missed games so that was nice to feel that you had your legs going. Still, play can be better, obviously but hopefully I'll get going here tonight."

The Detroit Red Wings (25-27-11--61) will be facing the Toronto Maple Leafs (28-22-14--70) tonight at the Air Canada Center.
