The Detroit Red Wings’s hulking and promising 22-year-old prospect Anthony Mantha is expected to have a breakout season in the NHL. That is, of course, should he find himself impressing enough of the Wings’ brass in order to earn himself a full-time roster spot ahead of the 2016-2017 regular season schedule.

 

The 6’5” winger, selected 20th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, has bulked up over the course of the past offseason. In 60 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins last year, he posted 21 goals and 45 points while scoring 2 goals and adding an assist in a brief 10-game stint with the big club.
