This would be a very interesting deal indeed.

In a recent article for Sportsnet, writer Jonathan Willis has proposed a potential trade between the Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs, a deal that would allow both teams to solve some of their current problems.

Willis has proposed that the Leafs would acquire defenseman Mark Pysyk from the Panthers, and in exchange the Leafs would give up defenseman Connor Carrick, their second round draft pick in 2018, and former first round pick Kerby Rychel.

For Toronto the positives are immediately obvious, Pysyk would give them a solid defenseman who plays on the right side of their blue line, something the team has been aggressively pursuing in the offseason.

For the Panthers it would give the team far more flexibility when it comes to the expansion draft, and the addition of Carrick would also give them a replacement should Las Vegas select one of their defensemen, something many expect will in fact happen. Add to that a solid draft pick as well as a young forward who still has some upside in Rychel, and this is a deal that could become a reality.

Would you make this deal? If not what would you change to make it fair for both sides?
