Prospect watch: Timothy Liljegren is doing quite well in the AHL

Could we see him in the NHL this year?

Toronto Maple Leafs first round pick in last June, Timothy Liljegren, is doing quite will in his first year in North America. The 18-year old defenseman, drafted 17th overall by the Leafs in 2017, has registered six points in eleven games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) so far this season. His has a defensive differential of +6.

The 18-year old defenseman played two seasons of pro hockey in the Swedish Hockey League prior to his draft year, registering 11 points in 43 games played. The 6'0", 190 points rookie is certainly a work in progress, but his play in the AHL this gives Leafs management a good feeling about their decision to draft him.

What do you think, Leafs fans? Does he deserve to be called up this season?
