It seems like defenseman P.K. Subban can just rub people - teammates for that matter - the wrong way.

Former Montreal Canadiens teammate Brandon Prust recently appeared on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast and told a story from the 2014-15 season when he and Subban fought on the team’s bus.

And it had insane consequences!

It all began when Subban explained to his teammates that the team was going to stay a few days in the southern United States, but that no one should go to Miami. However, despite the the directive, the defender intended to break his own rule after the game against the Panthers, according to Prust.

“After the game, I hurried to undress and then quickly made my way to the place where we stored our clothes,” he said during his interview. I looked in P.K.’s bag and there were clothes for his stay in Miami. I took his shoes and threw them in a place where it was impossible for him to find them one day.”
“It was a way for me and the team to tell him that he screwed up.”
“For two weeks, he asked everyone who had taken his shoes and no one told him. But hey, a little rat, which I won’t name, told him, ”added Prust.

While we don’t know who told on Prust, Subban was set to make him pay.

“In the last game of the season in Toronto, […] we take it in a shootout and take the first place of the Eastern Association. Everything is great. I’m changing and my cell phone is gone. ”

Prust had a feeling it was Subban and confronted him on the team bus. And it got ugly.

“On the bus, P.K. continues to tire me out,” said Prust. I said to him, “It’s over, I found my cell phone and you know I took your shoes.” P.K. then told me that he was going to take my phone and that he was going to destroy it.
“I TOLD HIM THAT IF HE DID, I WOULD KNOCK HIM OUT. HE GOT UP ON THE BUS. […] I GOT UP TOO. HE HIT ME AND EVERYONE RUSHED TO SEPARATE US. ”

Prust believes it led to his trade out of Montreal.

“Two days later, I got a call from my agent asking me to apologize,” remembered Prust. Why should I apologize? A few months later, I was exchanged. Maybe I should have apologized. ”

On June 1, 2015, Prust was traded to the Vancouver Canucks for Zack Kassian and a fifth round pick in 2016. However, he remains friends with Subban and acknowledges he is a tremendous blue liner.

“I love P.K. and I will take him on my team anytime,” he said.

Subban and Prust fought more than once during practice as they played for the Canadiens, however, all in good fun. We wonder if the fight on the bus looked anything like this:
