Jesse Puljujarvi may want out of the Edmonton Oilers; the kid still wants to play hockey!

While he awaits to see if general manager Ken Holland can move him ahead of the 2019-20 season, Puljujarvi signed a contract with Karpat Oulu of the Finnish SM-Liiga, one year deal that has an out-clause to join the NHL before December 1st,  2019.

The young forward has been hoping to get the attention of rival clubs around the NHL and may have made the first big statement on Friday when he scored his first goal for Karpat, three minutes into the team's first preseason game.

And what a beauty! Puljujarvi snipes it and does not miss!

This could get the phone ringing in Edmonton. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman revealed on Thursday that both the Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning are interested in pulling the trigger on a trade that would bring Puljujarvi to their respective roster.

It has been made known around the league that the Oilers are seeking a NHL-ready player and a prospect in return for Puljujarvi, and team insider Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal believes Holland could be after Lightning’s Anthony Cirellior defenseman Mikhail Sergachev. As for a prospect, the Oilers could be eyeing Taylor Raddysh, who was a teammate of captain Connor McDavid back in junior ranks.

This impressive start in Finland could get Puljujarvi’s value up in the coming days…
