The Dallas Stars have announced a significant contract signing.

The Stars have a couple of restricted free agents that they need to deal with in this tumultuous offseason and on Sunday they announced that one of their 3 remaining RFAs was officially signed. This time it was veteran centerman Radek Faksa getting paid after a run to the Stanley Cup Final with the Stars, with the organization opting to give him a long term deal of 5 years. Over the course of the contract Faksa will earn $16.25 million which works out to an average annual value, and salary cap hit, of $3.25 million per season.

Faksa, 26, is a former 1st round (13th overall) draft pick of the Dallas Stars who selected him at the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft and thus far he has played his entire NHL career with the Dallas Stars. Faksa has played in 6 seasons for the Stars, making 351 total appearances and he has recorded 60 goals and 68 assists for a total of 128 career points thus far.

The Stars now have 2 restricted free agents that are still in need of new contracts and those are forward Denis Gurianov and of course forward Roope Hintz. No word yet on when we can expect an announcement regarding either of those deals.
