It appears there was at least one team willing to deal with him.

One of the most reviled National Hockey League players in history could be back in the league next season.

According to a report from NHL insider Aaron Ward, unrestricted free agent and veteran forward Raffi Torres has been granted a professional try-out with the Carolina Hurricanes.

This doesn't necessarily mean that the Hurricanes will sign him, Torres has himself admitted that his knee continues to be an issue, although he has claimed that he feels it will not prevent him from playing at the NHL level.

The real question here is why Carolina would risk bringing in a player who with one wrong move could once again find himself banned for a huge length of time, perhaps an entire season?
