Rangers’ coach Quinn slams Larry David after his hockey analysis!

Everyone loved Larry David’s intervention on the Michael Kay Show on ESPN Radio New York on Tuesday when he weighed in on the decisions made by New York Rangers coach David Quinn.

David didn’t understand the treatment of rookie forward Kaapo Kakko and needed to vent about it, like only he can.

“Why did he bench Kakko in that third period after he scored?” David asks the panel, as only David can. “First goal in 14 games and an assist, he benches him because he takes a bad penalty. Come on, that’s ridiculous… You don’t think he knows he took a bad penalty? He knows benching him isn’t going to do anything, maybe he’ll get another goal.”

David was referring to the Jan. 2 game against the Calgary Flames, in which Kakko collected two points through two periods but played just under 13 minutes of ice time, taking a holding penalty midway through the third period.

When asked about David’s comments, head coach Quinn got back with quite a reply:

“Listen, I’ve watched a few bad Seinfelds and Curb (Your Enthusiasm) episodes.”

The head coach did add that he “still loves Larry David and his work”, but it was clear it rubbed him the wrong way.

We keep thinking David’s hockey analysis was pretty, pretty, pretty, good.
