The New York Rangers have clinched a playoff spot every year since 2010. They finished their season with 102 points (48-28-6) and landed in the top wildcard spot of the Metropolitan division. This year they are facing the Montreal Canadiens in the first round but odds show that the Rangers are extremely unlikely to win the Stanley Cup but it wouldn't be the first time they surprise us.

The Rangers record against the Canadiens shows a deceiving 0-2-1 final tally. However, this season the Rangers on average have scored more goals per game than Montreal. They also have the better goal differential per game at 0.44. This match up will definitely be intense as two of the world’s best goaltenders as Price and Lundqvist are going head to head.

Here is the schedule to watch these round one playoff games:

Game 1 – Wednesday, April 12, 7:00 PM @ Canadiens

Game 2 – Friday, April 14, 7:00 PM @ Canadiens

Game 3 – Sunday, April 16, 7:00 PM vs. Canadiens

Game 4 – Tuesday, April 18, 7:00 PM vs. Canadiens

*Game 5 – Thursday, April 20, TBD @ Canadiens

*Game 6 – Saturday, April 22, TBD vs. Canadiens

*Game 7 – Monday, April 24, TBD @ Canadiens

Montreal though in the top seed has only one point more then the Rangers.  It seems as if they are almost equal.  The Rangers will have to dig deep to advance this season.
