Rangers forward takes a puck to the face at practice, suffers some nasty damage.

The New York Rangers may have lost a player for a game or two.

Rangers forward Jesper Fast was injured today when he took a puck to the face during practice and it sounds like he was a bloody mess after the fact. According to multiple reports Fast has suffered a broken nose, and some of his teeth may have even been knocked loose.

"They're just trying to get the bleeding to stop because there's a lot of blood there," head coach Alain Vigneault explained as per Jim Cerny of Blue Shirts United. "I also think a couple of his teeth have fallen down a little bit; but he looked alright when I left. He's in as good of spirits as you can be once you get a puck in the nose. If the bleeding is stopped (tomorrow) and he can breathe alright (the equipment managers) will just put a Marc Staal longer shield in front and he'll be good to go."

Despite all that, the Rangers have not ruled him out for this Saturday, although the team did admit they are prepared for that eventuality, but it doesn't sound like Fast intends to sit out long despite the injury.
