Sounds like this is the end.

The New York Rangers may be losing one of the veterans.

While there has not been any sort of official announcement from the player or the organization, Rangers insider Larry Brooks of the New York Post is reporting that Kevin Klein is currently contemplating retirement.

From Brooks:

Individuals with knowledge of the situation stressed that a final decision has not been made even as the 32-year-old righty defenseman held a going-away party over the weekend.

Klein was severely limited as of late due a nagging and debilitating back injury, and as a result only appeared in just a single playoff game for the Rangers this postseason. While it's unclear if the back injury is playing a large role in this decision, one has to imagine that a serious back problem could in fact be a big motivating factor for Klein.

More to come.
