“That was a man's game out there... and he ran into a lion in the jungle.”

In case you missed it, Vegas Golden Knights enforcer Ryan Reaves absolutely ROCKED Washington Capitals pugilist Tom Wilson last night in an epic rematch of the 2018 Stanley Cup Final.

Reaves was ejected from the game for laying a thunderous late hit on Wilson, which forced Wilson from the game. The NHL subsequently announced that Reaves would receive NO supplemental discipline for the hit.

Here’s the hit in question:

This was AFTER Reaves rocked Wilson twice in a shift and openly laughed in his face the second time.

Not going to lie… I absolutely LOVE this. Not the fact that Wilson took a blindside hit and has a potential concussion, but the fact that Reaves stands up Wilson and then laughs in his face for trying to run him. That’s old time hockey, right there.

Maybe we shouldn’t expect anything less from Reaves though. He’s an old school kind of guy who tells it like it is and backs things up with his physicality. After the game he had the perfect summation of his night and rattling Wilson.

"That was a man's game out there...I thought he was just looking at his pass, and he ran into a lion in the jungle," said Reaves. "If he sees me, I know he's gonna try and lay me out and I'm not gonna let that happen. I thought it was shoulder to shoulder and I didn't think it was that late."

Unfortunately, these two rivals don’t have another game on the schedule during the regular season, meaning the only time they could potentially face off again is in a Stanley Cup Final rematch. Bring it on.
