He was not happy.

One of the highlights of yesterdays' draft was the late and massive trade involving the Penguins and the Blues. In one sweeping move, the Pens gave away their 31st pick in exchange of a later pick and Ryan Reaves. The move was quite unexpected and Reaves himself had a pretty unique reaction to the trade.

After a few minutes, he realized the rumors were actual facts and that he would be packing his bags and go to Pittsburgh soon enough. He even received a text from Sidney himself a few minutes after the trade was announced.

Reaves has been a long time Blues and didn't really believe he could be moved like that, but that's hockey in a nutshell. No one is safe from a sweeping trade and he will have to get used to it. It's a pretty smart move from Pittsburgh's perspective, but Ryan will need a few days to get over it.

It's both cruel and amazing to be moved to the Stanley Cup winning team in such fashion.
